Company Background
CyDen was founded in 2002 to challenge aesthetic and medical light-based devices through new intense pulsed light (IPL) technologies under the brand name iPulse™. Although still a small company, CyDen now has a global reach with a distribution network that spans more than 50 countries.

The four founders Professor Marc Clement, Jan Simonsen, Kevin Smith and Mike Kiernan developed the core iPulse technology in two and a half years before raising finance through private equity firm Longbow Capital LLP. Longbow was selected as it offers access to the capital markets through an investor group who add value to the company’s strategic development. For more information see www.longbowllp.co.uk. This investment has enabled CyDen to structure its manufacturing and marketing functions and in 2004 experienced industrialist and Longbow Partner Ron Petersen became CEO to drive CyDen’s international expansion.

Because of their unique and patented power supply technology, iPulse™ products have been extremely well received globally. CyDen has developed world class manufacturing capability to meet this high demand.

More recently CyDen has invested in the development of its product and technology portfolio. This is on track to lead to at least three new products being launched in 2007.

CyDen work closely with its international distributors helping them solve local market challenges. This fulfils the company’s aim of giving all fully registered aesthetics and medical professionals access to iPulse™ technology as well as making it available to qualified salons.

CyDen is part-owned by the four founders and part-owned by individual shareholders (more than 60 individuals) represented by Longbow Capital.
